North Acton Playing Fields Pavilion - Open evening 5th October

Dear Cllrs, Resident Associations, officers and local residents

Ealing council will be holding an open evening on Monday 5th October from 5
- 7 30 p.m. at North Acton Playing fields Pavilion.  The aim of the evening is to consult with local groups, residents and users with regards the next stage of the redevelopment of the Pavilion.  The format of the evening will be

1) Welcomes and Introductions - Cllr Seemar Kumar/Jonathan Kirby

2) Walk around facility prior to discussions - all

3) Open discussions around the potential options of use for the building - Lead by Jonathan Kirby

4) small focus groups looking at the Strengths, weaknesses and opportunities of each option - Facilitated by Ealing Council Officers

5) Feedback on the focus group discussions

6) meeting Close

Please note that we have had suggestions from local residents on usage for the building, such as Cafe, childrens centre, play centre, group meeting space etc.  Due to these requests I have asked that some representatives of the previous groups  to attend to see the facility and comment on the suitability of facility and its needs.  These groups will not have an advantage over any other suggestions that people may have and if you have contacts for the above groups, or indeed other potential uses then please also invite them.  I have invited representatives from these groups to allow an informed decision and discussion, by local residents and user groups, prior to moving onto the next stage

The process following the open evening, as communication previously will be

1) Advertising of the site through a section 123 notice for which groups are able to register interest

2) Submission of proposals from these groups

3) Assessment of the proposals by representatives from Ealing Council and the Local resident groups

4) Interview of the short listed groups

The above process was used very successfully when offering a lease on the cafe in Walpole Park, and is a very fair and thorough process.  Should you have any questions before the evening then please do not hesitate to contact myself or Sophia King.  There is no requirement to register before the evening, as it is an open evening, however confirmation would be appreciated.

Regards,

Jonathan
